// U2 tower approved
Plans for the new 'U2 tower' in Dublin have been given the green light by Ireland's Minister for the Environment.
The twisting tower ("a citywide landmark and a dramatic architectural gateway into Dublin city") will measure 100 meters and the two top floors will be home to the band's new state-of-the-art recording studios. U2 will have a dedicated lift to bring them directly from the entrance to the studios.

The tower will be built on Britain Quay on the south bank of the river Liffey, a short distance away from the old studios on Hanover Quay, which are to be demolished. (I've plotted both locations on Google Maps.)
