// U2 Zoo TV DVD easter eggs!
Achtung ya'll! It turns out that there are 3 very nice easter eggs (hidden videos) on the bonus disc of the 'U2 Zoo TV live from Sydney' DVD:
- Egg #1: A four minute time lapse sequence which shows the stage being built
- Egg #2: Emergency destruct sequence, a short 2 minute video.
- Egg #3: Interference documentary, 25 minutes. This is all the "Interference" from the 1992 Achtung Baby VHS video.
But how to access these easter eggs?
Note that these easter eggs are all on the bonus disc which comes with the 'Deluxe Edition'! There are no easter eggs on the concert DVD!
// The easy way
If your DVD player allows you to navigate the DVD chapters then simply play chapter 4 for the time lapse video, chapter 8 for the emergency destruct sequence and chapter 9 for the interference documentary.
// The hard way
If that won't work then there's also an alternative way to access the easter eggs. It's actually not that hard, it's just a bit difficult to explain... You will need a remote with up/down/left/right arrows and you need to be able to enter numbers.

// U2 & Green Day in New Orleans
U2 and Green Day gave a special performance in New Orleans last night to celebrate the reopening of the Louisiana Superdome.

The evening marked the return of the New Orleans Saints to the Superdome, after Hurricane Katrina had heavily damaged the huge stadium. U2 and Green Day played a brief set in the pre-game show.
First The Edge joined Green Day to play 'Wake Me Up When September Ends', then the rest of U2 joined in for a medley of 'House of the Rising Sun', 'The Saints are Coming' and 'Beautiful Day'. Watch a video of the performance on Rhapsody.com.
U2 and Green Day have recored a cover of 'The Saints Are Coming' by Scottish act the Skids. The track will benefit Music Rising, an organization that replaces instruments lost by musicians as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Music Rising was co-founded by The Edge.

// U2 in Abbey Road studios
Today the official U2 website posted a day-by-day account of U2's work in London's Abbey Road studios.
It says that 'the vibes are good', and that the band is working on a track 'that sounds like a U2 classic with an instant hook and a mesmerising chorus'. And they've had some visitors too.
Head over to u2.com for "the inside track from behind the studio doors".
Let's hope U2 keeps surprising us with weekly updates like this.
// U2 in studio with Rubin and Green Day
U2 are in the studio working on the follow-up to 2004's 'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb' and will record a Hurricane Katrina benefit song with Green Day.
Billboard reports that the bands will record a cover of 'The Saints Are Coming' by Scottish punk band The Skids, proceeds from the song will go to Music Rising, an initiative co-founded by The Edge which helps musicians who lost their instruments during Hurricane Katrina.
U2 are working on their new album with legendary producer Rick Rubin.
