// Remastered albums out this spring?

U2 will release remastered versions of their first six albums this spring, according to the Italian rock music magazine Buscadero.

All albums (Boy, October, War, The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree and Rattle & Hum) are said to contain bonus tracks, The Joshua Tree will be released as a double disc Deluxe Edition.

When U2 were recording The Joshua Tree there were plans to release the album as a double-album with up to 18 songs but obviously these plans were later changed, and many songs which didn't make it to the album were later released as b-sides on the singles.

So is U2 planning to re-release The Joshua Tree as a double album as they originally had envisioned, or are they simply releasing the remastered album, with some b-sides on a bonus disc?

Be aware that this is only a rumor right now, nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

Would you buy these albums?

I’m guessing it’ll just be a bonus disc with some b-sides:

They are busy with their new album, I doubt that they want to spend a whole lot of time reworking The Joshua Tree.

It would be wonderful if they did rework the Joshua Tree but they are working on new material and need little distraction. When they do re-release the first six albums it would be the best day in my life considering the only song from ‘Boy’ I’ve heard is ‘I Will Follow’, from ‘October’ the song ‘Gloria’ and from ‘The Unforegtable Fire’ ‘Pride’.
