U2 will announce the dates and details of their upcoming 2005 world tour next monday, u2.com reveales.

The new world tour will be called the 'Vertigo Tour' and will kick off on the west coast of the US in late March (rumour has it that the tour will start on the 28th of March in San Diego), the second leg of the tour will take them to Europe in the summer, after that they will likely head back to the US. It's also likely that they'll play a couple of concerts in New Zealand and Australia this tour.

The band also announced that the Southern roch band 'Kings of Leon' will be the support act in the US, Irish rockers 'The Thrills' are believed to be the European opening act.
