Opening acts:
The American rock band The Secret Machines will support U2's 'Vertigo' tour concerts in Mexico.
It was prevously announced that Franz Ferdinand will be the opening act in Brazil, Argentia and Chile, while Kanye West will open up for U2 in New Zealand and Australia. The opening act for Japan (Yokohama, April 4th) is still unknown. Rocko and the Devils will have to honor to support U2 on the final 'Vertigo' tour concert in Hawaii.

And if you're curious about Rocko and the Devils, they've put some pictures on their website:

- The second concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil has sold out. Tickets were sold exclusivly by phone. Phone lines were overloaded as the call center recieved more than 600.000 calls. After 8 hours all 70.000 tickets were sold.
- It seems unlikely that a second show in Hawaii will be added. This concert was supposed to be announced after the first show (Honolulu, April 8th) sold out, but tickets for that show are still available on ticketmaster.com. (Update 2006/02/11: It seems the concert has sold out, no more tickets on ticketmaster, thanks Patrick)
- According to an Indian newspaper U2 will play in Mumbai, India sometime in 2006. There are also rumors that U2 will return to Japan in November 2006.
Personally I think it's unlikely that U2 will head out to India or Japan later this year. There might have been plans for the 'Vertigo' tour to continue well into 2006 (an outdoor summer tour in the USA was also rumored), but it's become clear that Hawaii will be the last stop on the 'Vertigo' tour.
- And finally, The Edge has put an end to all speculation that U2 might quit touring:
We grew up on the road ... It's such an integral part of what we are. I don't think we could give up touring. I don't think we could do what the Beatles did, just pack it in. (CNN.com)
